I wanted to make a clear statement about my personal policy regarding AI.
This page should've been made much sooner - I genuinely forgot to update my website.
Like many, I initially jumped on the bandwagon of "All AI is evil, bad, scary, and should NEVER be used, EVER."
However, my views on the technology have evolved over the past couple of years.
I recognize that - like any tool - AI has the potential to be used unethically, fraudulently, or even harmfully.
But I also see the potential in this technology when it's used responsibly & transparently.
Like any tool, it can be used for great things when guided by honest intent.
I recognize that I’m capable of error like anyone else, but I do my best to only use AI tools in limited & ethical
ways - to streamline my process or to help convey concepts to human collaborators.
Whenever I use generative AI in my work, it's strictly in service of the creative process;
1) For placeholders & concepts, to be later replaced by human-made work,
2) To assist with intermediary steps, or
3) For research, which I always double- and triple-check against other sources.
If a production is ~99% human-made, I believe it's reasonable to use a simple tool to help finish it.
I will never intentionally leave raw AI-generated assets in a final product.
I also will never use assets for training data that I do not own the rights to, or that were not shared with consent.
As an artist for most of my life, I truly understand and empathize with the concerns & frustrations around AI's use.
I strongly believe in and support the protection & rights of creators & performers alike, in all industries, against unauthorized AI reproduction.
But I do not support sanctimonious witch hunts or performative outrage, especially when there's no intent to deceive or replace real human effort.
If you spot a missed raw AI placeholder in my works, please get in touch ASAP at AbyzouDev@gmail.com so I can fix it immediately.

P.S: Almost all of Heartbreaker's art is all drawn by me, with no AI used. That's the main reason it takes so long to get updates out. Just saying.
